I especially love to involve my patients in planning their own treatment. The digital technology at The Gentle Touch allows me to show my patients their own teeth on a screen and in 3D so we can really study every feature together. Paying attention to the fine detail is the key to producing a fantastic result.

Born

Cork, Ireland

Training

Ciara trained at Ireland’s highly-respected University College Cork. 

In the fifteen years since qualifying, she has undertaken extensive postgraduate training, developing skills in orthodontics, restorative dentistry, biomimetics, and cosmetic dentistry.

Learning is her passion; she continually pursues the teachings of the world’s top dentists to ensure her knowledge and skill set are always current and up to date.

Since 2016, she has further broadened her expertise with continuous rigourous training in facial aesthetics (the art of wrinkle reduction).

Career

Ciara spent her first thirteen years as a dentist working in an NHS and private practice in Edinburgh, where she quickly earned a reputation for excellence with anxious patients. 

In 2017, at just 32, she became the youngest ever dentist to win Scotland’s Dentist of the Year. The panel of experts largely chose Ciara due to her keen interest in dental education and her reputation for treating nervous patients. She joined The Gentle Touch in 2019.

Ciara enjoys spending her leisure time with her three young children on her husband’s family farm near Carfraemill.
