Lisa Wood

Childsmile Dental Nurse

National Certificate NEBDN 2008

GDC 163210

Lisa Wood has been with us at the Gentle Touch since 2006. She joined the practice directly from Kelso High School, and qualified two years later as a Dental Nurse. She went on to train as a Childsmile nurse in 2012 and has been treating children at our practice ever since!

Childsmile is a Scottish programme designed to improve the oral health of children from babies to age 12. We’ve seen the success of the programme first-hand as so many of our child patients have grown in confidence and cooperation each time they visit for their Childsmile appointments. Lisa really enjoys working with children, and their parents, and she runs her dedicated own children’s dentistry clinics once a week.

Lisa now has her own child, a little girl. She says it’s amazing how this experience has really helped her to grow into her role as a Childsmile nurse. She now fully understands the challenges and the tricks for getting little people to brush their teeth!
