Mr Will Donovan

BDS (Dundee 2017), MFDS RCS (Edin)
PGCert Dental Education
GDC 270616

“I love all parts of dentistry but decided to undertake further training in endodontics (root canal treatment) as it is the specialty that focuses on saving and maintaining teeth.

Being able to offer patients options to keep their own functional teeth that have suffered significant damage due to decay, breaking down or dental trauma is incredibly fulfilling as a clinician.”

Born

Sydney, Australia

Training

Will graduated from the University of Dundee in 2017 with distinction before completing his membership exams at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He also holds a postgraduate certificate in dental education and provides teaching and training for the more junior dentists within his hospital.

Career

After graduating, Will worked in general dental practice in Edinburgh for over three years before moving into a variety of hospital-based roles around the central belt of Scotland. His experience includes special care dentistry (working with anxious and medically complex patients), paediatric dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and restorative dentistry, of which endodontics is a part.

In 2023 he gained a coveted specialist training post at Kings College Hospital as a specialist registrar in endodontics, where he is involved in the acute dental trauma service for South London.

  • Managing the result of dental trauma injuries
  • Teaching and supporting other dentists about root canal treatment.
