In-Practice Visit & Mentorship

We are always open to working with other dentists and dental therapists. Our team, led by Principal Dentist Amber Aplin, has particular interests in preventive dentistry, biomimetic restorations of badly damaged teeth, dental therapy, implants, complex root canal and teeth straightening.
Mentorship Options
We offer two exclusive mentorship options, designed to help clinicians and practice owners implement successful biomimetic and therapist-led care models in their practices. Delivered personally by Amber Aplin at The Gentle Touch, an award-winning, purpose-built private dental and education facility.
Biomimetic Dentistry Mentorship: one day “over the shoulder” plus six months of support

Dentists and therapists who have completed our Level I training course in biomimetic dentistry (or equivalent) and want to deepen their biomimetic skills through live patient observation.
Experience real-time biomimetic dentistry in a fully equipped, state-of-the-art private facility designed specifically for educational viewing. You’ll gain an authentic insight into workflows, surgery set-up, clinical protocols, and patient communication.
– 8:00 am: Morning case review and clinical objectives
– 8:45 am – 4:00 pm: Live observation of biomimetic treatments (direct composites, onlays, and overlays, depending on your preference). Procedures will be fully visible via a large screen and microscope recording.
– 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm: Dinner and informal review at a local restaurant (included in the fee).
– Lunch, dinner and refreshments
– WhatsApp direct support for six months following your visit
– Two 1-hour Zoom calls to discuss your own cases and clinical questions
– Materials and equipment ‘toolkit’

Therapist-led care and practice strategy mentorship: half day in practice plus six months of support

At The Gentle Touch, we have transitioned over 3,000 patients from dentist-led to therapist-led care with a 98% patient satisfaction rate. During your visit, you’ll observe our systems first-hand and receive all the information and tools needed to implement this model in your own practice. You’re welcome to bring one team member along.
– 8:00 am: Practice tour and insights into infrastructure and systems
– 8:30 am: Team huddle observation
– 8:45 am – 12:30 pm:
– In-practice observation of therapist-led care in action
– Direct time with TCOs and therapists to understand patient journeys
– One-to-one discussion on strategies to convert patients from dentist-led to therapist-led care
– 12:30 pm: Lunch at a local restaurant (included in the fee)
– One adjoining additional team member visit free of charge
