Dear Patient

Since I last wrote to you, things are feeling more positive. The sun is shining, the country has an excellent vaccination program (have you had yours)? and national Covid hospitalisations remain at a very low level. We are now permitted to sit together inside public areas to enjoy food, drink, and much-needed fellow company.

Whilst it is more relaxed elsewhere, you may notice that our Covid protocols have not changed (yet). We observe Government guidelines, and these have not changed for dental practices. We still have a fallow period following every ‘aerosol-generating procedure’ carry out a deep clean and wear extensive PPE.

NHS practices have had a lot of bad press recently regarding their ability to do routine check-ups and treatment. Some have confirmed waiting lists of three years or longer. We feel extremely fortunate that we have been able to provide the same amount and type of care as pre-Covid times despite these Covid restrictions. From your perspective, apart from looking like beekeepers, the care we provide is no different. As usual, the team at The Gentle Touch have been amazing, happily adapting and continuing with these temporary changes.

You may also have noticed that we have not been booking your next check-up and hygiene appointments (however, we have been carefully taking note of when they are due)! We are planning for the diaries to go back to normal without the need for shift work, and we did not want to risk having to change your appointments. Thank you for your patience with this.

Finally, the Airflow hygiene treatment is proving to be hugely popular. For that reason, we have added a new dental plan. If you would like Airflow instead of your routine hygiene appointment, you can sign up for the Airflow Plan outlined below (and there is no need to ‘top-up.’). In fact, we now have 6 dental plans available for patients.

I hope you are enjoying the new freedoms and you are easing into summer.
