New team members at the Gentle Touch in Kelso
Mon, 16th Aug 2021We have two new team members joining us in September, as well as one returning! Welcome to new dentist Ciara, dental hygienist Abbie and welcome back to dental nurse Paula. In other news, we are going to build a new surgery upstairs at the Gentle Touch.
New dentist – Ciara Sutherland
Ciara Sutherland, who currently runs the facial aesthetics clinic (Gentle Aesthetics) is also a wonderful dentist. She has already started taking on new patients in anticipation of her start date in September. Ciara will continue to run her facial aesthetics clinics alongside her dentistry. For more information about Ciara, please read her bio.
New dental therapist – Abbie Frankland
Abbie Frankland is a dedicated dental therapist (just like Michelle Paxton) and is also starting here in September. You can read more info about Abbie here. We are extremely fortunate to have two fantastically skilled dental therapists at our practice. Michelle, who has been with the practice for the past year, carries out a wide range of clinical dentistry which ranges from new patient assessments, baby teeth extractions and crowns to teeth whitening and composite bonding. In fact, she is just starting a diploma in cosmetic dentistry. To find out more about a dental therapist’s scope of practice, read here.
Return for Paula Lowrie – Dental Nurse (Implants)
We are also delighted that our excellent dental nurse, Paula Lowrie, is returning to the Gentle Touch after her brief stint at a private implant clinic. Whilst she enjoys all aspects of dental nursing, she has a particular interest in implant dentistry.
Our new surgery
Due to increased demand, we are going to build a surgery upstairs (with scope for a second in the future). Whilst most of this work will be carried out over the Christmas period, there will be minor works (mostly during the weekend) occurring prior to this. So we apologise in advance for any noise/disruption. To allow some much-needed administrative time, our Principal Dentist, Amber Aplin, is going to reduce her clinical hours for the next few months. However, she will always be in the practice in case she is needed!
