What our patients have to say about us...

Ciara Sutherland is, quite simply, a top-class dentist. She combines true expertise with a 'gentle touch' and a comforting, reassuring manner. I cannot commend her highly enough!!

In the olden days it was a scale and polish, now it’s Airflow..... It’s just like power washing your teeth with warm water and air. It’s completely painless!!! I believe it has given me cleaner teeth without the little niggles the cold water can give during the scaling process.

Initially, I was very nervous about the prospect of having implants to restore the gaps caused by previous extractions.  However, I felt better with the support received by Amber in tandem with the support from Vermilion. My mouth feels so much better now and all my teeth feel stronger with the support of the implants.

Being able to have follow-up appointments and treatment in Kelso will also save me the trips up to Edinburgh (see our news page for further information). I feel I have been very well supported throughout the process by Amber and her team at the Kelso dental practice.  They have a friendly and professional approach which put me at ease throughout my treatment.”

I had a procedure with Ciara and she was absolutely fantastic. I wasn’t sure what to expect but she talked me through everything in great detail and I was given the opportunity to ask any questions. I felt completely at ease and would recommend her to anyone.

I recently had two excellent sessions at The Gentle Touch, one of which being an emergency appointment after experiencing horrendous toothache. The practice staff were exceptionally welcoming of me as a new patient and immediately helped me to alleviate my anxieties. The whole experience was superb, so much so I’m actually looking forward to future appointments.

“For the past five or six years, since our move to Kelso, we’ve been delighted with the quality of all the work done at The Gentle Touch practice.  Appointments scheduled are very much kept to time, and yet the practice is only too helpful if there’s a sudden emergency; a loose crown, a lost filling or whatever. The system of six-monthly check-ups works well, and appointments can generally be scheduled for the hygienist on the same day.

In the past year, I’ve had a couple of implants, and the whole process, from early consultation through to completion, was handled very efficiently; with carefulness and practical explanations.  My dentist, Amber Aplin, has a welcoming manner and the necessary artistic skill to make the final result seem both comfortable and convincing.

I’m delighted to recommend the practice to anyone who wishes the most professional of service allied to the aim to get things absolutely right for each patient.”

Made an appointment at The Gentle Touch to have an airflow treatment to clean my teeth before my wedding. I was nervous beforehand but the staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional and talked me through each step. Not only that, the hygienist even picked up on a possible small hole in one of my teeth that my regular NHS dentist has not noticed during my check ups. Highly recommended, the level of care is brilliant.

Hi Folks. Just home from a visit to The Gentle Touch. What a wonderful team.I am always a bit nervous about getting teeth descaling. But I should say no worries at all - the service I received was great . I can truly say this was the Gentle Touch's team at its very best. Well done Amber and colleagues on providing a first-class service.
